Advanced Micro Devices is a leading global provider of innovative processing solutions
in the computing, graphics and consumer electronics markets. AMD hired RocketRed LTD and
CleverPear to build brand awareness and drive traffic to its valued partners at the 2008
International CES, the world's largest platform for new technology and devices.
Working together, RocketRed and CleverPlear designed and developed “Home Connections,”
a custom kiosk game that showcased AMD as technology leader with world-class products and partners.
Objectives
- Position AMD as a leading provider of platform technology for products from
high-profile CES exhibitors, including Sony, Samsung, Microsoft, Nintendo, Toshiba,
Motorola, Dell, HP and many others.
- Create a gaming experience that leverages best-in-class gaming technologies and
highlights AMD’s role in its partners’ products.
- Build a real-time backend engine to publish the current game leaders and award
random prizes over a secure network.
- • Provide an absorbing online gaming experience that holds its own against other CES digital experiences, with:
– Internal game assets such as plasma board, images and active animations
– Logic to broadcast results and support a branded web platform
– Secure and legal support for random prize giveaways

Solution highlights
- Developed a high-impact online game with custom graphics, user interface and full 3D animations using Flash 9.
- Created sophisticated animation in a new character Ave to drive traffic to the game kiosks.
- Developed full gaming backend using C#, Flash 9 and integrating online protocols using TCP/IP for pushing data to a common server.

- Engaged more than 1,500 visitors at CES who spent an average time of 45 minutes learning about AMD, its products and partners.
- Developed a general engine that can be leveraged for future kiosk games.
